Review

I have this sub mounted in a custom wood enclosure of .48 cu ft and it sounds incredible! I didn’t think it would hit very hard or sound extremely good because of the shallow depth design and the fact that I’m only pushing 200W rms to it but it has proven me wrong. Pioneer recommends .60 cu ft, but the sub can be installed in a box with volumes between .35 to .70 cu ft with only a 3.5″ mounting depth. It comes with a ring cutout as well as measurements for a sealed, ported and bandpass box. The price at Amazon is almost half of what you will find anywhere else.

Feature

8″ 4-ohm shallow subwoofer

carbon and glass fiber reinforced IMPP cone with woven-fiber surround

Air Suspension Control System eliminates traditional spider structure

power range: 50-250 watts RMS (1000 watts peak power)

mounting depth: 3″

Overview

Our newest line of subwoofers are designed to provide wider installation options for a broad range of vehicles. These “”Shallow-Mount”" Subwoofers feature multiple patent-pending features to deliver the big bass performance of a full-size subwoofer, but in a compact design that can be installed either behind or under seats depending on the type of vehicle. The mounting depth is just 2-7/8″” – less than half a typical subwoofer in this class.

This 10″” shallow subwoofer handles 1000 watts max., 350 watts nominal power, and delivers deep bass with top-notch sound quality thanks to features like Pioneer’s extremely strong and lightweight IMPP Composite Double Cone Woofer, the patent-pending M-shaped Surround, and more.

One of the new patent-pending features is called the “”Air Suspension Control System”". This design locks in air between the main cone and drive cone, ensuring smoother and more precise movement of the cones, for superior linearity. The locked-in air behaves like a spring, so there’s no need for a traditional spider structure. The drive cone also deflects air pressure inside the enclosure, which further contributes to the remarkable bass of the small package.

The TS-SW2541D subwoofer is extremely flexible for installation, able to fit almost anywhere. There are two available Subwoofer Enclosures – the UD-SW10B is designed to fit behind the seat of a truck, or in the back of an SUV or Minivan; and the UD-SW10U is design to fit under the rear seat of many pickup trucks.

Review

The audio on my 1999 Olds Alero began to sound like the speakers made fizzing noises in the background. I did what checking I could on the Internet to get the right speakers and some of the other reviews of these speakers led me to order them. I am very pleased. Most of my in car listening involves talk radio and Podcasts, not music.

There are abbreviated instructions on the box, but that is not where I expected them and I did not find them until I was well into installing the speakers. According to the box there is a manual, but I did not find it. My car is not listed on the box as being among those these speakers fit, but they do fit. The mounting bracket seemed a little strange, but it works fine once I caught on to how it is supposed to work. I am looking forward to getting a lot of use from these speakers.

Feature

150W Max, 30W Nominal

4_

Freq Resp: 35 Hz?22 Khz

Sensitivity: 91 Db

Grey-Metallic Colored Impp Composite Cone

Overview

Our TS-G4641R 4 x 6 2-way speakers handle 100 watts max. power and feature Pioneer’s extremely strong and lightweight IMPP? Composite Cone Woofer, for improved sensitivity and reduced distortion. The High-Energy Strontium Magnet (woofer) and Conex Damper deliver higher power handling and deeper bass, and the 1-3/16 Film Cone Tweeter offers great performance on high frequencies. The TS-G4641R’s are designed with a custom-fit US/European-compatible basket.

Review

I wasnt sure if these shallow mounts would sound like normal pioneer’s, but oh boy was I wrong. This thing sounds just as good as any other 10″ pioneer subwoofer I have owned in the past. Because of the shallow design, I was able to install this within my Kia Rondo’s storage compartment (completely enclosed, its like I dont even have a system until I turn it on).

Built my own custom sealed enclosure to fit in storage bin of my car. Came out to 0.439 cubuc ft of airspace which is almost right on the money of pioneers recommended 0.45 cubic ft. I am feeding this thing 300 RMS from my PowerAcoustik OVN-520 and it sounds amazing.

Words of wisdom; do not buy the atrend shallow mount enclosure for this as its internal volume space is not even the minimum 0.35 cubic ft stated by Pioneer.

Feature

10-inch Shallow Subwoofer with 1500 Watts Max. Power (400 Watts Nominal) Shallow-Mount design with 3-1/2-inch Total Depth (3-inch Mounting Depth), 0.35~0.7 cubic foot enclosure, Single 4 Ohm Voice Coil, Interlaced Basalt/Carbon Fiber Reinforced IMPP Cone

Overview

10″ 4-ohm shallow subwoofer * interlaced basalt and carbon reinforced IMPP cone * 3-layer urethane and fiber-woven radial surround * Air Suspension Control System eliminates traditional spider structure * power range: 50-300 watts RMS (1,200 watts peak power) * mounting depth: 3″ *

Other reviewers have complained about a lack of bass. To put that in context, I’m sure they don’t have enough bass if you are listening to hip hop music and not only want to hear the beat, but feel it. For other purposes they are fine.
