Kenwood KFC-1662S 6.5-Inch 3-Way Speakers

Review

I replaced the factory speakers in my ‘97 Cavalier with four of these. They are shallow mount speakers, so they aren’t nearly as deep as a normal 6.5″. I was worried that this smaller depth would affect the sound, but I’m pleasantly surprised. The highs and mids are clean and articulate right off the bat. At first, the low end was disappointing, but after a week of normal usage during commutes, the speaker broke in and the low end filled out nicely. They won’t rattle the door panels, but the music sounds nice and full. For being relatively inexpensive speakers, they worked out well.

By the way, these are great for low-powered systems. I’m only running them off of an aftermarket Sony receiver with 17 by 4 watts RMS. I bought the speakers because they are so sensitive: 92db and rated 2-35 watts RMS, 180 watts peak. For this price, the step-up from the paper OEM speakers was well worth it. Viva la Kenwood!

Kenwood KFC 6970ie – Car speaker – 80 Watt – 4-way – 6″ x 9″

Review

I picked these speakers for price and have been pleasantly surprised at there depth of sound. I have them in my 97 Dodge van and have no need for a sub woofer as the bass is rich and doesn’t pound my brain with discomfort and inaccuracy. I am not sure if I like the midrange on these but I haven’t spent much time adjusting the equalizer at the headset to modify it yet, so it may be OK.

All in all not an annoying speaker and quite frankly play quite clean and full for the money.

The Kenwood MP-242 is simply fantastic! Real clean, crystal clear sound and bass boost plus proper EQ will make any existing stereo speakers sound great. Wooh! Just installed the two speakers today(10/03/09) in my 01 toyota Sienna. It took over 3 weeks from purchase to be installed b’cos of work schedule. The sound from the speakers is great and crisp/ Though usage is less than a day I am overhelmed with the result.It is the exact space (6.5′)for the toyota Sienna. It was installed for me by a friend who owns Autobody company(Nulook) There was litle or no modification(s), just a perfect fit. I did check out customers reviews before I settled on the product. So far so good

Kenwood KVT-512 7-Inch Wide Indash Monitor with USB/iPOD Direct Control/DVD Receiver

I got the kvt-512 along with the kna-510 installed in my 06 TSX. So far, all is good and no real complaint. The unit is loaded with features and options so what you can do with it is limitless. I have this unit connect through my factory head unit but the sound is still pretty good. The dvd is nice and clear and the navi works great. The touch screen is very responsive as well. I really like the fact that it plays mp3s off of a dvd. It is also convenient that it comes with a usb port to play mp3s off of. You can buy a ipod adaptor but why when you can get a cheap usb drive to play your music out of. I have it connected to a 8 gig thumb drive(bought for like ) that I perminantly keep on there since it is plenty to hold all of my music.
You have to touch the screen on a unmarked location to activate the menu control options which is something I need to get used to. So far…I am definitely enjoying my new toy.
