Power Acoustik HD-88BK 8.8-Inch Pre-Loaded Universal Headrest Monitors with 2 RF Headpones (Black)

I’m an Electrical Engineer and was looking for something to entertain my son on long road trips. It took me about 3 hours to install a headrest in my Ford Edge. I spent most of the time being careful not to cause damage to my seat while opening the bottom of the seat to allow for the cord to pass through. After that it was a very simple process. I purchased a 12V to 120VAC inverter and powered a WD Media Converter which I installed under the back seat. The HD-88BK runs straight off of the car battery through the power outlet in the back.

My new system allows me to play our entire DVD collection and kept my 3 year old entertained for a 8 hour trip.

There are adjustment screws on the bottom of the headrest that you can loosen to tilt the headrest forward. Most newer cars are tilted forward for safety. I was reluctant to install an aftermarket product on a 5 star rated car, but did not want to cut up the headrest to do the install. Once I tilted the headrest forward, it appears to me that it is just as safe as the OEM headrest.

I do not see how you can get a better deal on two headrest monitors. If there’s one out there, I missed it.

Pioneer TS-SW2541D 10″ 4-ohm Shallow Subwoofer

I have this sub mounted in a custom wood enclosure of .48 cu ft and it sounds incredible! I didn’t think it would hit very hard or sound extremely good because of the shallow depth design and the fact that I’m only pushing 200W rms to it but it has proven me wrong. Pioneer recommends .60 cu ft, but the sub can be installed in a box with volumes between .35 to .70 cu ft with only a 3.5″ mounting depth. It comes with a ring cutout as well as measurements for a sealed, ported and bandpass box. The price at Amazon is almost half of what you will find anywhere else.

bought these subs for my 01S10 crew cab truck. in a custome box sound decent. not for hard hitting bass but does put a little thump in with the music, which is what i was looking for. when these blow i’ll get 2 10″ shallow and try them out. would recommend if on a budget.
